The houses in the game are found in the village accessed via the map.

The First House

The first house on the left is locked and can never be unlocked.

It looks almost identical to the fifth house but with the window shifted up and the chimney moved to the right.

What Could Be Inside?

Due to the striking resemblance to the fifth house which is mostly empty, it is fair to assume the first house is not occupied by any people.

The first house could then possibly be compared to "fake homes" in certain areas, which is a phenomenon in construction where service buildings (such as a public toliet or electricity station) are built to look like homes or other fairly innocent structures.

It could thus be assumed that the fifth house is a service building, and one which civilians are not meant to access, and it also has a fake door to prevent easy entry from said civilians.

The contents of the first house could possibly be an electrical station.

Y'know, or the developer just hasn't figured out what to put in it.

Note: There is nothing in the first house, because there is no ASCII for the first house, and thus the developers probably haven't intended to put anything in there if the contents literally can't render.

The Third House

The third house can be unlocked with the key given to you by the squirrel.

The Fifth House

The fifth house (next to the Forge) is empty except for several lollipops. Click the lollipop on the dresser to pick it up. Next click on the middle tassel on the right edge of the rug to reveal a lollipop. Finally, click the left handle on the dresser to reveal the last lollipop inside.

It looks like the first house but with the window shifted down and the chimney moved to the left.

The Sixth House

The sixth house looks like a more compact version of the fifth house, and with the window shifted towards the right of the door rather than its left.

The chimney is also completely removed.

The Sixth House (on the far right) contains a quest that involves killing rats in a woman's basement. In this quest you must have a weapon or else she will not let you undertake the quest.
